How does a patent application work at VanBuren Patent Management?
Step 1
As soon as we receive your application, we will connect you with an experienced independent patent attorney if you do not have one yourself. This expert examines whether your invention is eligible for patent protection and determines the optimal strategy for your application. Depending on the findings, the representative can immediately submit an application or first conduct a detailed preliminary investigation.
Step 2
The patent attorney takes the lead in the substantive description of your invention. VanBuren Patent Management takes care of the formal handling and submission of the patent application. In this phase we maintain close contact with you and your patent attorney about progress.
Step 3
After submission, there is a period of waiting for approval, which may vary per country. A detailed examination for novelty takes place. This period gives you time to think about which countries you want to have your patent registered in. After submission in the countries of your choice, there will again be a period of waiting for publication and granting. In the meantime, you can start developing your idea and bringing it to market.
